Chuck Klevgaard, Content & Technical Advisor, EDC Solutions Project Director, EDC​

Chuck Klevgaard serves as a content and technical advisor to EDC solutions and is a nationally recognized expert in substance misuse prevention, public health, and school-based health. Drawing on his experience in prevention-focused partnerships, he builds the capacity of states, tribes, schools, communities, and cities to use evidence-based substance misuse

prevention and intervention strategies. He specializes in behavioral health support; training and technical assistance; and evidence-based alcohol, opioid, and substance misuse programs and policies.  Klevgaard is a member of Prevention Solutions leading initiatives focused on prevention across the lifespan including prevention with older adults.    Klevgaard, a Certified Senior Prevention Specialist through the Illinois Certification Board, Inc., holds a BSW from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Valerie Connoly Leach, OCPC, Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Manager of The Office of Community & Family Resiliency

​Valerie Leach currently serves as a Manager with the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services within the Office of Community & Family Resiliency. In this role she leads and facilitates the advancement of Behavioral Health Prevention and Early Intervention services and supports utilizing a public health approach. With over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field, Valerie has provided direct care services

in correctional settings and experience in providing services to individuals in the community with substance use and mental health challenges. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and is an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant.

Steven C. Gregory, M.A., OCPSA, Project Manager and Adjunct Professor, St Mary Development Corporation

​​Steven Gregory has worked in the prevention field since 2013. He currently serves as Project Manager for St. Mary Development Corporation. He is a WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) facilitator and Master Trainer for the state of Ohio, where he trains other prevention workers across the state to become WISE facilitators. Steven also is a certified QPR Instructor, and an

Adjunct Professor of Sociology at Sinclair Community College. He also has a background in property management, and he spent several years in law enforcement. Steven holds a bachelor’s in psychology from Wilmington College and a master’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Wright State University. In his spare time, he loves to sing and play guitar.

Sara Morman, Elder Connections Division, Ohio Department of Aging​

Sara Morman is the new Chief of the Elder Connection Division at the Ohio Department of Aging. She began her career in state government as a Public Information Officer utilizing her degree in Communications from Ohio Northern University. Sara joined the Ohio Department of Aging after an 18-year career at the Ohio Department of Health. At ODH, she began as a Public Information Officer and quickly

became passionate about public health. She later became the child injury prevention coordinator and eventually the Chief of the Violence and Injury Prevention Section. Sara was an integral part of the growth of Ohio’s injury prevention efforts and elevated the state’s focus on infant safe sleep, youth concussion, community naloxone distribution, older adult falls prevention, and comprehensive care in emergency departments for people with substance use disorders. In her current role, Sara has been at work learning the Older Americans Act programs and identifying new ways to collaborate with local, state and federal partners. Sara is passionate about the strategic growth of the Elder Connections Division in Ohio and embraces a data to action framework. Outside of work she enjoys golfing and spending time with her family.
