BE a Volunteer
Some people want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen.
Be a volunteer and help make it happen!
If you'd like to support the Area Agency on Aging 3, you can do so by donating your time! Please contact us at 419-222-7723 or 1-800-653-7723 for more information about the volunteer opportunities available. You can help in a number of ways depending upon your interests and background. Our agency is a great place to job shadow for high school students and provides great training for college students who would like to intern.
Victim Assistance and Recovery Program for Elders and Disabled Adults
The Area Agency on Aging 3 is looking for compassionate and patient volunteers with strong communication skills to assist elder victims of crime in recovering and getting back their lives. Volunteer opportunities through our Victim Assistance Program offer a variety of different activities from community education and public relations to directly supporting a senior or adult with disabilities who has had his/her world turned upside-down by the actions of others. At times our volunteers work with staff, at other times they may work independently. Our volunteers regularly comment on how rewarding it is to know they have made a difference in the lives of people in need.
The volunteer will support the AAA3's mission of providing person-centered support that inspires, educates and empowers elders, adults with disabilities and their caregivers.
Victim Assistance Program volunteer opportunities exist in Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Putnam, Mercer and Van Wert Counties in west-central Ohio. Attending a short orientation is required and additional training will be offered throughout the year on relevant topics to ensure that the volunteers have the necessary knowledge and skills to feel comfortable in their roles and effectively assist program clients. For more information, please contact Ann Meiring at 419-879-2392.
Volunteers are not paid because they are worthless, but because they are priceless!
