Elder Justice in Banking Training- 1.5 – 2 hours.
This training provides those who work in the banking industry, information on how to recognize the signs of financial exploitation and abuse. The trainer also provides techniques on how to handle suspected exploitation and abuse, mandatory reporting information, local contacts to report abuse, and communication techniques when the individual has a cognitive impairment such as Alzheimer’s.
Elder Justice in the community Law Enforcement Training-1 hour
This training meets the mandatory training requirements on Elder Abuse for law enforcement. Attendees will receive information on local abuse and exploitation data, types of elder abuse and exploitation, signs and symptoms to look for when investigating, what a typical abuse looks like, and local resources to assist in your investigation.
Home Choice, Transitioning Residents from NF back into the community-1 hour
This training will help explain and hi-lite the program called HOME Choice (Helping Ohioans Move, Expanding Choice). HOME Choice has made a positive life-changing difference in the lives of Ohioans who would otherwise have had no choice but to remain in long-term care facilities. Hear about some of the successes of our regions HOME Choice individuals and the partnerships the program has built along the way as we work to connect the elderly or Ohioans with disabilities to the necessary community services and help them to set up their new home.
Area Agency on Aging 3-1 Hour
This training provides insight into the history of the Area Agency on Aging, services available and how to access them, the agency’s relationship to other organizations/partnerships and our impact on economic development.
Just got Discharged from The Hospital, What do I do next?-30 minutes
Hospitalizations often create uncertainty about what medications are to be taken, what doctor or doctors am I to see and when. Errors made when changes are made but not followed once individual discharged home. Review of how to avoid readmission to hospital for same health event.
Volunteering in Your Community-30 minutes
The importance of volunteering in your community-how vital individual participation is to the community as a whole-ideas on how to get involved-comparing individual skills to volunteer skills.
Elder Abuse and Sexual Assault-1hour
What is Elder Abuse/Sexual assault, shat to do if someone is abused or suspected of being abused. Statistics on abuse and sexual assault. What is a SANE exam, the process in the Lima area.
Your Health Care Decisions: What you need to know about Advanced Directives-1 hour
An advance health care directive are instructions given by individuals specifying what actions should be taken for their health in the event that they are no longer able to make decisions due to illness or incapacity, and appoints a person to make such decisions on their behalf. What kind of medical care would you want if you were too ill or hurt to express your wishes? This training will help define Living Wills, Durable Power of Attorney, Do Not Resuscitate Orders and Organ Donation and how these legal documents and directives can help you plan for your health care in the event you become unable to do so. They provide a way for you to communicate your wishes to family, friends and health care professionals, and to avoid confusion later on.
Matter of Balance-Series of eight 2 hour sessions
Falling is not a natural part of the aging process, despite alarming numbers across the country. Learn how to keep yourself and those you care about on solid footing with this series of 8, 2-hour sessions. Trained facilitators will offer you tips and tools to strengthen your mind and your body. Group size requirements: 8-12 people. Leader training is offered once a year.
Healthy U-Series: six, 2.5 hour sessions
Chronic disease – such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes, and arthritis – is among the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems in the United States. But sadly, 7 out of 10 people die each year from chronic disease. Learn how to manage your conditions and lead a healthier life with this workshop offered in series of 6, 2.5 hour sessions. Group size requirements: 10-20 people. Leader training is offered once a year.
Sensitivity To Aging-2-4 hours
Aging is inevitable…it happens to each of us from the second we’re created. With over 39 million Americans over the age of 60—a number growing larger each year—it makes sense to experience first-hand the challenges faced by the older generation. The goal of our hands-on sensitivity training is to help you become more empathetic, understanding and patient with senior citizens in your community. Ideal for school-age groups, businesses, faith-based groups, etc.
The AAA 3 Front Door-1 Hour
This presentation reviews the front door work/services of Area Agency on Aging 3 Community Resource Specialists. What assistance can the CRC specialists provide to individuals, family members, caregivers, nursing homes, and others. How we can help link individuals with assistance and services.
Pre-Admission/LOC Review Training-1 – 1.5 hours
This training will describe who is subject to the Pre-Admission Screening (PAS) Process. How to fill out a PASRR Identifications screen correctly, and all the paper work needed. Explain who needs a LOC (Level of care) review and the information required to process a LOC for a hospital or nursing facility resident. Discuss who qualifies for a “Hospital Exemption” formerly convalescent Stay and the implications for the admitting nursing facility. Discuss who qualifies for an emergency admit and the paperwork needed. List the requirements for admission to a nursing facility from the community for both Medicaid and non-Medicaid clients.

The world of HR-1 hour on each topic
1) Family Medical Leave Act-A basic overview of FMLA regulations and how to apply it in the work place. 2) Customer Service – What is true customer service? A customer service presentation that focuses on the customer, individual and yourself. 3) Conflict Management – Fair and legal ways to handle conflict management throughout the workplace and our lives.
Understanding the Medicare Part D Maze-1 hour
This training will help individuals understand Medicare Part D, the prescription drug coverage portion of Medicare. It will explained the guidelines for the Medicare Part D “Extra Help” Program available to assist beneficiaries with the cost of Part D premiums, deductibles, and preventing beneficiaries from going into the “donut hole”. The training will also discuss Ohio Medicare Savings programs and eligibility guidelines for these programs. If eligible these programs could save individuals on Medicare hundreds of dollars throughout the year.
Cultural Sensitivity/Spirituality-1 hour
There has been a dramatic increase in the population in recent decades, as well as changes within the population itself. As providers in the long term care system, we find ourselves providing services in an environment where consumers and families may be of different cultures, traditions, and spiritual backgrounds. The goal of the system in which we serve is to provide the best possible care for all consumers. In our multicultural society, the challenge is in determining how we can provide services in ways that are appropriate and sensitive to these differences.
Malnutrition and the Elderly- 1 hr
Senior hunger is a real problem in the 21st century. Malnutrition can allow seniors too vulnerable to illness and compromised healing. This presentation will explain malnutrition, discuss causes, and suggest treatments while highlighting the need for good nutrition and reliable nutrition advice.

The new dietary guidelines and the new MyPlate logo which replaces MyPyramid were just released this year. Learn more about what the recommendations are and how they fit into your life and health.
A Safe Drive Through the Aging Process - 1 hour
This presentation addresses driving issues as related to senior citizens. It is not meant to be another safe-driving or driver-refresher program but rather is designed to increase awareness concerning the onset of diminishing driving skills related to the aging process. The presentation takes a direct yet compassionate approach to the very sensitive subject of recognizing that someday it may be time to relinquish some of that treasured driving independence. The ultimate goal is not to take away driving opportunities of older drivers, but rather to offer suggestions on how to recognize and compensate for diminishing skills so that our seniors may remain on the roadways as safe drivers.
Adults with Aging Parent Drivers - 1 hour
Among other things, this presentation discusses many of the legal, ethical, and most importantly the emotional challenges faced by a family or professional caregiver when considering a loved-one's retirement from driving. This is a 1-hour group presentation developed to help members of the baby-boomer generation when they become concerned about a loved-one's ability to drive safely as a result of the natural aging process. In this presentation, a roadmap is provided to help families address the issue with tact, compassion, and empathy, so that the older driver's dignity and independence is never unnecessarily jeopardized.
