What our Agency offers

Like it or not, AGING IS INEVITABLE.  From the moment we’re created, we begin the aging process. But we shouldn’t fear growing old…in fact, we should enjoy this stage of our lives.  Area Agency on Aging 3 is dedicated to making that happen with a number of programs that encourage integrity, independence and quality of life for those over the age of 60.  Here are some common questions that you might be asking:

• I’m having trouble doing the tasks that need to be taken care of around my house.  Cooking, cleaning and running errands are a problem.  Is help available?
• My mother needs constant care, but we can’t afford the attention she deserves.  Do we have options?
• I work full-time, babysit grandchildren, and I also care for my father in our home.  I am very tired and could use a break.  Is there any help available?
• I’ve noticed my wife is forgetting the names of our grandchildren and has often gotten lost on her way to the beauty shop and grocery store.  Should I be concerned?
• Money is tight for me, but I don’t qualify for Medicaid.  I feel embarrassed to ask for help, but I could use some assistance right now.  Can you help me?

ADVISORY COUNCIL VACANCIES

There are currently several vacancies on the Area Agency on Aging 3 Advisory Council. If you know of anybody who might be interested in serving, please let me know and I can send them a Volunteer Application. They cannot be a relative or an employee of a provider agency.

All Volunteer Applications are reviewed by the Nominating Committee and approved by the Board of Trustees.

The Advisory Council meets bi-monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m.
